Sign-Up Process and Cancellation Policy
- Summer Sonatina accepts beginners as well as advanced performing pianists, ranging in age from 7 to 16.
- No auditions are required.
- Students have come to Summer Sonatina from Canada, Japan, the former Soviet Union, several European countries and over forty states in the United States.
- A minimum of 2 weeks is recommended to fully benefit from the camp experience. But we will accept a limited number of single week applications also.
- Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of application form and deposit, so please apply early to ensure you have spots. Registration is ongoing starting January 1st.
- An all inclusive fee of $975 per week covers 3-5 lessons, room and board, music books, tickets to cultural events, and all recreational activities. A one-week deposit of $975 is required at the time of registration and is non-refundable. The balance of tuition is due by May 15th.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
If you give a minimum of ONE MONTH notice, we will allow you to apply your deposit/tuition to the next year (less a cancellation fee of $100), otherwise your total deposit/tuition is forfeited. There is no refund for late arrivals or early departures.
SIGN-UP PROCESS FOR THE SONATAS
- Submit a completed application form via our website or mail in the PDF form (look for “Print” on the upper right hand corner) to the Sonatas (5 Catamount Lane, Bennington, VT 05201).
- A deposit of $350 is due now. We accept checks, Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal. The payment will secure your spot in the program. If you choose to pay in full, a 5% discount is applied to your tuition.
- As soon as we receive your completed application form and the deposit of $350, we’ll mail you a letter, including your payment amount, your balance and a confirmation of your Sonata dates.
- Final payment is due 3 months prior the program starting date. No further invoices will be issued before that time.
REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY FOR THE SONATAS
- Beginner to advanced pianists, professional pianists who need more time to themselves, as well as piano teachers who would like to brush up on their own performance skills, will benefit from this unique program.
- No auditions are required.
- Minimum enrollment required: 12
- 2010/2011 rate for 10-Day January, March, Spring, and May Sonatas: All-inclusive fee of $1550 covers 4 lessons, room and board, concerts, and workshops. These programs run from Friday 4pm to Sunday AM.
- 2010/2011 rate for 8-Day Summer Sonata: An all-inclusive fee of $1550 covers 3 lessons, room and board, concerts, and workshops. This program runs from Sunday 4pm to Sunday AM.
- 2010/2011 rate for 10-Day June, September, Autumn, and November Sonatas: All-inclusive fee of $1800 covers 4 lessons, room and board, concerts, and workshops. These programs run from Friday 4pm to Sunday AM.
- All Sonatas - A deposit of $350 is required with completed application. The balance of tuition is due three months prior to arrival.
All Sonatas - Cancellation/Refund Policy
If you give a minimum of THREE MONTHS NOTICE:
- You may apply your deposit/tuition, less $100 cancellation fee, to a future program of your choice within 7 years, if we have space available. If more than 7 years have passed, the full deposit will be forfeited.
- Or you can be placed on a waiting list for any program of your choice. Your deposit/tuition, less $100 cancellation fee, will be transferred to the new program when we find an opening for you.
- Or if there isn't space available and you don't want to be placed on a waiting list then we will refund your deposit/tuition, less $100 cancellation fee.
If you give less than THREE MONTHS NOTICE:
- Your total deposit/tuition is forfeited unless we can find a replacement for you at which time you will only be charged the $100 cancellation fee.

- A deposit of $200 is due now. We accept checks, Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal. The payment will secure your spot in the program. If you choose to pay in full, a 5% discount is applied to your tuition.
- As soon as we receive your completed application form and the deposit of $200, we’ll mail you a letter, including your payment amount, your balance and a confirmation of your Intermezzo dates.
- Final payment is due 3 months prior the program starting date. No further invoices will be issued before that time.
REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY FOR INTERMEZZOS
- Beginner to advanced pianists, professional pianists who need more time to themselves, as well as piano teachers who would like to brush up on their own performance skills, will benefit from this unique program.
- No auditions are required.
- Minimum enrollment required: 8
- 2011 rate for all Intermezzos: All inclusive fee of $695 per Intermezzo covers 2 lessons, 2 master classes, room and board, workshops, concert and duet/solo bash. These programs run from Friday noon to Monday AM.
- All Intermezzos - A deposit of $200 is required with completed application. The balance of tuition is due two months prior to arrival.
All Intermezzos - Cancellation/Refund Policy
If you give a minimum of TWO MONTHS NOTICE:
- You may apply your deposit/tuition, less $100 cancellation fee, to a future program of your choice within 7 years, if we have space available. If more than 7 years have passed, the full deposit will be forfeited.
